fun ! great stuff
Okay so the main thing about being set these tasks in playbook was actually thinking of things to draw for the takeaway task. I have just been drawing from observation, which is suuuuper boring.
Even then it is still tricky to choose what to draw, as there isnt that much goin on in my life and tbh the playbook work was left a little late each week so didnt leave much room to go out and about to even explore different surroundings like i could have done.
When doing that walk-around art gallery shuffle to see what everyone else has produced, if i catch a glimpse of someone looking through my work i cringe a bit, knowing i can produce creative interesting work as opposed to this kind of bland, unimpressive sketches.

although i found the sessions at uni interesting and fun to play around with, the takeaway tasks always seemed super difficult to me.
the shape-driven task was glorious, everybody made such beautiful work , it was amazing. i loved the idea of playing with the frame and thinking inside the box
the texture stuff was challenging but also very useful, and
the task of making a self portrait was lovely and messy
even though i made myself look like an eighties therapist.
also who knew gouache is so GOOD
okay maybe i'm just a new fan but
it's so easy and lovely and bold
but it takes some getting used to
all in all, I think I need to be more bold in my playbook, cause how else am i going to start making good work?
i need to use it as a tool more instead of a homework diary
because i can probably make good work if i push myself more
and think about stuff
more
